3rd Annual Oktoberfest results
On Sunday, October 7th Airway Meadows held their
3rd Annual Oktoberfest golf tournament. 140 golfers competed in a Handicapped 4-player scramble with
prizes being awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd
place teams in three flights. Afterwards
three separate competitions were held, a putting contest and a pitching contest
with the winners of each receiving a free 2002 Gold Membership. A long drive competition was also held.

1st annual Club Championship
results
Airway Meadows Golf Course held their 1st annual Club
Championship. It was played as an eighteen hole, stroke play event divided into
three categories: Men’s low gross, Women’s low gross and Overall low net.
The big winners of the day were husband and wife, Rick and Donna Denue. Donna
won the women’s competition by six shots while Rick had to go into a sudden
death playoff with Tom Ellis. After both players halved the 1st hole they went
to the 8th where Rick won the title. The juniors members played their round
yesterday with 16 year-old Ryan Ventre winning by 10 shots.

1st Annual Member-Guest Tournament results:
Airway Meadows Golf Course held its
1st
Annual Member-Guest Tournament, Saturday July 21st. With 7 teams entered in the
handicapped better ball tournament, Jim Gavin, of Saratoga Springs, and his
guest, Jim Steenburgh, a member of Burden Lake Country Club, fired a net 60
(-12) to become Airway Meadows 1st Member-Guest Champions. Second place was won
on a match of cards by Theron Stevens, of Latham, and his guest, Bruce Stevens.
